Wilton Town: 0 – AFC Wroughton: 1 – Match Report

Wiltshire Football League – Div 1
Castle meadows, Wilton

Wilton Town played Wroughton for the second consecutive Saturday and ended up losing by one goal again but should have ran out comfortable winners.

Town started in good fashion and were the first to create a chance with Connor Martin shooting wide. It was a fairly tight affair again until Town had a chance to take the lead. Some good passing led to Neil Underwood getting thru with only the keeper to beat but the away keeper saved with his feet. Continue reading →

Wiltshire League – Wilts Junior Cup
Castle meadows, Wilton

Wilton Town exited the Wilts cup in the second round after a defeat on Saturday which saw Town play the better football and dominate a lot of the game but got no reward for thier efforts.

Town started the game in good fashion carrying on from last weeks win but found themselves a goal down after 10mins when some sloppy defending allowed Keynes a free header six yards out to give them the lead. Town were straight back into the game and playing some really nice football with Ady Hale and Steve Burgess bosssing the midfield. Town had a great chance to equalise when Archie Lovegrove showed some great feet inside the box only to be denied by a great fingertip save by the Keynes keeper. Continue reading →

Wilton Town: 5 – FC Sandford: 1 – Match Report

Man of the Match: Archie Lovegrove

Wilton Town produced somewhat of an upset on Saturday with a thrilling performance against their 5th placed visitors which saw them claim an emphatic win in great style.

Town started the game with seven 16 year olds and were straight onto the front foot which they were never going to relinquish thru the whole match. After last weeks disappointment it was great to see the young Town side bounce back in great fashion. The young legs of Town were causing the away side early problems with their energy and pace but took the lead after 10 mins when Ady Hale long throw was flicked on by Frankie Kerry which was helped in by a defender.
